I've given up reading articles on health as a dead loss and I know because I read everything I could find. If you're not careful, your start realising your friends are avoiding you because you bore them silly about being healthy. I used to be fat, lazy, and out of shape, and it made me absolutely miserable, but since I finally got my body back into shape, I have been doing everything that I can to keep myself as healthy as possible. Reading articles on health helps me to keep up with the latest news in exercise, diet, supplements, and other aspects of longevity. I just get annoyed when I read articles on health now because I have read so many that tell you one thing is really good for you one day then say how bad it is the next. What are people supposed to believe when it's the scientists that contradict each other all the time as if it's their job to confuse us all on purpose. If you're anything like me, there's no mystery, we are just looking for the best way to eat healthily, keep fit and live a good long life. Sometimes you become your own worst enemy by reading all the articles that contradict because you just become confused and disillusioned. Now take coffee, alcohol and chocolate, three great American favorites, which were considered detrimental to your health, until recently, that is. Now it turns out that wine is good for you, beer is good for you provided it is dark beer, chocolate is good for you if it is dark chocolate, and even coffee has been found to have some health benefits when used in moderation.
Tomorrow, they will be saying that ice cream and cheesecake are the best options for creating a low cholesterol diet! Well it took some time but all these so called experts have managed to do is make people wary about what they are told and to be responsible for themselves. So I have decided I can still read as many articles on health that I like but choose how much notice I should or should not take of them.
If I just read the exercise sections and the odd information on nutrition and let my body tell me what it needs then I can't go wrong. Of course I want to have a healthier life and be happier at the same time but I believe it is now down to my judgment with very little interference from the food police. |
