As a woman reaches that difficult stage in her life she may be forgiven in believing that her body is out to get her. The whole world over, most women suffer with menstrual cramp to some greater or lesser degree, irrespective of how normal their cycle is. For the ten percent of women who suffer with either endometriosis or PCOS, the complaint can be considerably worse each month. Each woman experiences the pains differently with some hardly able to do anything during this period.
If you are one of those unfortunate enough to suffer this then perhaps it is time you looked at some form of menstrual cramp relief you know will work every month. It's strange how your physician will often prescribe one of the most used remedies and that is a pill. Pamprin is probably the best known of these, probably because it is marketed purely towards sufferers of this condition. Many women won't take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.
After all, if your stomach cramps are getting you down every month then what do you have to lose? Even worse still, the cramps are often combined with bloating and sometimes, queasiness as well. Because I know how painful bad cramps can be, I have had to find other forms of menstrual cramp relief. Another problem is the irregularity because some months it feels as if I am being given a bear hug and others where there is no discomfort at all.
Heat pads can work quite well but you may find you have to experiment where it is placed for it to bring some relief. This can be a good alternative to pain relief pills if you find they are ineffective or you just prefer not to take them. When you have painful and long lasting menstrual cramps each month, you may have to take more action. Where this is causing a problem with attending work each cycle, you may forced into finding something to help before you find yourself seeking other employment.
To stop the situation worsening you should speak to your physician to see what menstrual cramp relief solution he can come up with. Quite often it can be a simple case of being prescribed one of the birth control pills as these are effective for many women and this might be something your doctor recommends. The only time this probably won't be the ideal solution is if you have planned to have a child in the near future in which case your doctor should be able to advise you further of any dangers and options to help ease your cramp situation. Good luck with your search for a way to ease those regular painful cramps. |
