The Sanskrit word Yoga which means union stands for harmony or balance between the body, spirit and mind - in that, it means a lot more than just meditation. It has the distinction of being the oldest personal development technique known. This has been practiced for almost five thousand years, and it is a certain form of body conditioning that is known to place an emphasis on strengthening the mind and the body, while at the same time stimulating the soul.
Yogi and Yogini refer to male and female practitioners of yoga respectively. The practice is considered to be an applied science that deals with mind and body and it is one among the six famous orthodox systems of Indian philosophy. This is not just a case is of sitting in a lotus position and chanting in unity but is a huge subject and if you understand it can become a research for your entire life.

It is one of the four main paths of yoga where different methods help control the mind, senses, energy and body. The Kundalini Yoga is a non stressful and safe practice which gives instant results. It is based on a set of special exercises or Kriyas. Hatha yoga comprises of postures or asana, prayanama or breath control and it is also the basis for the disciplines that are posture based.
Sahaja Yoga is an ideal way of meditation based on a practice called 'Self Realization' (Kundalini awakening) which will be present in every human being. Next on the list is Moksha hot Yoga which is a very unique form which is known to combine traditional yoga's foundations and the precision of the therapeutic yoga within a room that is specially heated.
These days, yoga has enjoyed some really great popularity among kids and adults because it is excellent for everyone both old and young alike. Yoga has become tremendously popular and is considered the most rapidly growing trend in exercise. This may be due to the fact that yoga is something one has to do and not something done to or on one. Pregnant women can increase endurance and flexibility as it is considered to be one among the best activities that you perform during your pregnancy. Associated Press and Fit Yoga claim the discipline is increasing in popularity among soldiers for improving stamina, mental focus and flexibility. The practice should not only be taken as an exercise but should also be accepted as a method to develop happiness and harmony from within. |
